Seder Plate
Created for Waterford Crystal
.
For six years I was the art director for the Waterford Collector’s Society. I produced an every-other month magazine for them and did the peripheral marketing materials for the Society. Having a reputation of not only a graphic designer but also a Judaic artist Waterford commissioned me to create the Waterford Seder plate and blessing cup. I also wrote, with rabbinical help, the material included with the purchase. Keeping in mind the limitations of cutting crystal I made numerous sketches. When the design was chosen, I went to the offices of the “Forwards” and they helped me set the Judaic type. This was done slightly before the computer type faces were available.
The Seder Plate is no longer in the Waterford catalog--it has been discontinued.
